Transfer an Add-on Domain to Its Separate Cpanel Account

To transfer an addon domain to its own cPanel account, follow these steps:

1. Backup Files and Databases:

   • Determine the location of the addon domain’s files and create a backup.
   • Backup any databases associated with the addon domain.
   • Don’t forget to back up email accounts and forwarders.

2. Remove the Addon Domain Entry:

   • Remove the addon domain entry from the existing cPanel account.

3. Recreate the Addon Domain as a Standalone cPanel Account:

   • In WHM (Web Host Manager), log in as the ‘root’ user.
   • Navigate to Home » Transfers » Convert Addon Domain to Account.

4. Upload Files:

   • Upload the contents of the backed-up directory directly to the new account’s public_html directory.
