Refreshing DNS nameserver records can bring about margin time or irregular goal of your domain for as long as 48 hours while the updates propagate across all the DNS servers all over the world. Our authoritative servers are set up to update as quickly as possible. Nonetheless, propagating time likewise relies upon certain elements beyond our control.

Your Domain Registration Service

If you modify the DNS nameservers in your CORE Client Area, we will promptly transmit those record changes to the primary registrar within a matter of minutes so that they can update their root zone file. While most primary registries update their zones swiftly, some may have longer TTLs (Time To Live) which can lead to extended propagation times.

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP)

After your domain name registrar updates their root zone file, the changes must be distributed to every Internet Service Provider (ISP) globally. Similar to registrars having different Time-To-Live (TTL) settings, ISPs also have their own TTLs, and your records will be updated once your ISP acknowledges the change. Consequently, your domain may not resolve for you immediately, but it may resolve for some of your clients or colleagues depending on their ISP, and vice versa.

Time to Live (TTL) Settings

The TTL (Time to Live) setting can be adjusted by each DNS server in their DNS zone. If you are using cPanel/WHM, you can modify this setting in the DNS Zone File for each individual domain. The TTL determines how long servers will cache your DNS information. For example, if you set the TTL for domain.com to 6 hours, your server will store that record's information locally for 6 hours before attempting to retrieve updated information from your authoritative nameservers. By reducing the TTL, you can speed up the propagation process at the server level, but you will still need to wait for your ISP and domain registrar. However, keep in mind that decreasing the TTL may increase the number of queries to your authoritative nameservers, potentially slowing down your server's processing time. To avoid any issues, you can temporarily reduce the TTL, wait for full propagation, and then extend it again. If you don't have access to DNS Zone management in WHM, please contact our support department for assistance with adjusting your TTL settings.
